So today in this article, I am giving you some basic tips on low light photography or you can say night photography with your smartphone.

5 TIPS TO TAKE BETTER LOW LIGHT PICTURES WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE

1. USE MANUAL MODE

Most of the people use the stock camera app of their smartphones which is the worst thing ever because the budget smartphones do not have the manual mode in their camera app and trust me, Manual mode is very essential to take good low light pictures so ultimately you have to use a third party camera application and as always I will suggest you use bacon camera app which is just awesome camera application. In bacon camera, you can use manual mode to take low light pictures and set focus, exposure, white balance according to your need.

2. DON'T USE FLASH

The second thing or you can say a mistake most of the people do is to use the camera flash of their smartphone but trust me guys if you want to take some awesome low light pictures, you should never use the camera flash because it makes the picture totally annoying. It gives harsh light on the picture which makes it totally different from its original color. The picture becomes odd colored and there are also uneven shadows in the picture.

3. SHUTTER SPEED

Shutter speed is the most important factor for taking an awesome low light picture as it matters a lot. In simple words, you can longer the shutter speed of your camera to take noise free and amazing low light shots.
Basically, if the shutter speed is low then the picture becomes very noisy as the camera doesn't capture enough light so be sure to adjust your shutter speed as long as possible.

4. ADJUST THE EXPOSURE AND ISO

The exposure compensation and ISO are also as important as shutter speed in capturing some amazing low light pictures. Make sure that you correctly tap on the subject on your mobile screen so that the camera sets the proper exposure and focus. You can also use manual focus peeking to focus on the subject properly but in that case, you also have to set the exposure compensation manually on your subject according to the lighting conditions.

5. STABILIZE YOUR PICTURE

The last but not the least is to stabilize your shot while capturing it. For stabilizing your picture you need to mount your smartphone on a stable surface such as a small gorilla pod or wherever it is possible. you can also longer your shutter speed as I mentioned above to stabilize your picture, It reduces the blurriness of your picture.
